The texts and mantras on Benjahmin’s CD Wholly Woman derive from the tradition of Sikh Dharma, inspired by Guru Nanak, and the teachings of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan.
According to the dedication of this album, the major part of the music can be best described with the words: “… No Woman, No Cry”. If you know this song by Bob Marley, you can quickly find out where some part of the musical inspiration for this CD comes from: some songs have a pure, cool and invigorating yet nicely relaxed Reggae-rhythm to them, making the music much fun and putting this CD into a special position within the genre of Yoga-Music. Other songs are more calm, flowing, smooth and give an excellently woven texture to Benjahmin’s unique voice. Benjahmin has been practicing the technology of Kundalini Yoga for 7 years and qualified in his Teacher Trainer Level 1 with I-SKY (International School of Kundalini Yoga) in 2006, Level 2 in 2010 and is in the process of becoming an Associate Teacher Trainer with I-SKY UK. He is a qualified Kundalini Yoga Therapist under the guidance of Guru Dharam Singh Khalsa and a Shakti Dance Teacher with Sara Avtar Olivier. With his love of the Shabd Guru, music and singing, he brings a devotional and poignant energy to his sharing of the Sacred Science that is Kundalini Yoga.
