Triphala Gritham (also called Triphala Ghee) is an ayurvedic massage fat based on ghee and triphala. The original recipe comes from the source text Ashtanga Hrudayam.
Ghee is pure butterfat ("clarified butter"), and Triphala is a classic in Ayurveda, consisting of the three plants Amalaki (Amla), Haritaki and Bibhitaki.
As a combination of these special ingredients, Triphla Gritham is ideally suited to process and break down Ama. Triphala is known to ignite the Agni. Triphala Gritham balances all 3 doshas. It improves Ojas and Agni and purifies all 7 Dhatus.
Triphala Gritham is therefore very suitable for an ayurvedic foot massage with a Kaash bowl, for example.
