Already in ancient Egypt, the almond-like tigernut-nodules were enjoyed as food. From a nutritional standpoint, the tigernut is a really compelling fruit with an unusually high content in fiber and an excellent taste. Easily digestible vegetable protein, minerals, unsaturated fatty acids and cell protective vitamin E make the tigernut a rapid source of energy. Due to its exceptionally high fiber content, the tiger is an effective adjunct in reducing diets by significantly reducing the feeling of hunger.
High-fiber diet
Nutritionists recommend an intake of at least 30 g of fiber per day, but often it is only a maximum 20 g, although fiber is an essential part of a healthy diet. For a regulated intestinal activity they are of the utmost importance.
Taste and Usage
Tigernuts are slightly sweet and taste very much like almonds. Whether eaten plain, in muesli or yoghurt, or in addition to raw food dishes - tigernuts are always delightfully delicious! Especially for cakes and baking bread the ground tigernuts can be used everywhere where nuts or almonds are required.
