Kirtan Aid is a non-profit music project, featuring many of today’s Kirtan-Bright-Stars, such as Deva Premal, Krishna Das, Snatam Kaur, Jai Uttal, Dave Stringer, Jai-Jagdeesh, Nirinjan Kaur and many others. Kirtan Aid is an uplifting and refreshingly versatile compilation that has come together in the true spirit of Seva - selfless service - and brings the power of sacred chants and mantras together with real world action to make a difference where needed most! Tucked into the foothills of the Himalayas, high on a hill overlooking the River Ganga and sacred pilgrimage city of Rishikesh, is a haven and home for destitute children.
Called Ramana's Garden after an Indian saint and run by a woman named Prabhavati Dwabha, whose life work is the care of abused and abandoned children, this magical home has a stellar school, organic gardens, and programs for playful healing and spiritual growth, all so important to rehabilitate the children who have been victims of tragedy. There are many children still on the streets with no access to a home, an education or good food and health care.

Let's join together to help Ramana's Garden build a new dormitory for these children and give them the best chance at a better life: 100 % of the profits from this album will go towards building a green, sustainable dormitory at Ramana's Garden to expand the number of children this remarkable place can reach.
